O'Carroll: Tiege Caoc O'Carroll, King of Ely O'Carroll,last Irish sovereign of Ely, the territory extending over part of the King's County and County Tipperary, in descent from Fionn, King of Ely (circa 1205), in descent of Cian, Son of Oilioll Olum, King of Munster. Additionally, Tiege Caoc O'Carroll, in the face of mounting pressure from English surrendered his Kingdom and paid Homage to Edward VI who made him a Baron and granted the title Lord of Ely O'Carroll in 1552 but the Patent or Record of the Patent has never been found.
