We sadly Announce, the passing away of one of our Clan Mothers Pauline Carroll~Boyd, October 19th, 2004, peacefully at her home in San Rafael, California. At Age ~97~ She leaves our Clan Secretaries, Donna Carroll~Boyd at San Rafael, and her Sister, Patricia Carroll~Fullmer, mother to Clan Regional Chieftain Steve Fullmer at Phoenix, Arizona. Pauline is also survived by a Son, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. The Carroll~Boyd Family will greatly appreciate Love and Prayers from the many Clan Members and Friends to their Family. Formally bringing Clan Cian to the Longs Peak Games. I understand there was a Dedication of the Irish National Anthem to Clan Cian by the Games. "Seventeen" New Members joined Clan Cian. "Seabhach Abu" "A Hawk Victory" Clan Boyd also Attending, was Represented by Lady Lauren Boyd, President House of Boyd. Lauren and Cal being also Clan Cian Members. Again, Attending the 2004 September Games Clan Cian will also again, be in Attendance with, Two Clan Tents. Our Clan Cian Chief Heraldic Officer, Chieftain Tomas McStail, a Clan Cian Sept Chieftain will add his Banner with Senior Chieftain Captain Durnin also a Sept Chieftain with my Chiefs Banner. Drop by for a Clan Visit and perhaps be able to meet the Lord Lyon King of Arms from the Lyons Court in Scotland, also Attending as the Game VIP. Memorial Day Weekend
The long awaited 2001 "O" Merlot is finally here and it is delicious! This is a big ripe merlot with aromas of black cherry, bitter chocolate, espresso, herbs and earth, firm tannins and a smooth, lasting finish. Come join us for a relaxing afternoon of strolling in the vineyards and wine tasting. Chef Sandra Simile (former chef for Flowers Vineyards) has paired the merlot with a light lunch of spiced pulled pork sandwiches and other delectables. Take a stroll in our vineyard, play ping pong or just sit and enjoy the spectacular views of the western hills. Our winemakers, Dave Cofran (former General Manager of Silver Oak Cellars) and Hugh Chappelle (winemaker for Lynmar Vineyards, former winemaker for Flowers Vineyards) will be there to discuss everything you’ve always wanted to know about wine.
Tickets are $15 per person for the wine tasting, tour and lunch.

In the best interest of our Clanspeople we are issuing this WARNING because of a malicious campaign where various virus emails continue to be sent out to our membership, please note the following:
The un-named source of this malicious virus email campaign came to be know to us because they were targeting those on a particular mailing list attacking both Dalcassian and Elyan Members of Clan Cian. Later an apologetic note was posted on the website of this un-named source on their Clan News page with the advise to download a Patch that unfortunately turned out to also have a virus. Our Hosting Company, Inreach, has traced and confirmed the malicious User, and has sent us numerous Notices stating the infected message was sent intentionally. Our Host continues to quarantine and trace the source.

He decreed January 1, 1564 or 1582 as the official New Year instead of the end of March/April or the end of the Winter Solstice and the beginning of the Spring Solstice. Individuals who continued to honor the original day or forgot and celebrated April 1st were refered to as "April Fools" and were teased, ridiculed and had pranks played upon them by being sent foolish gifts and invitations to nonexistent parties etc... It eventually spread from France to England and then to the US. Called in French "poisson d'avril(April Fish)" and in Scottish "April Gawk".  |

Seabhach Abu Bulletin ~ January 6, 2004 Dear Clan Cian and Dalcassian (Dal gCais) Clan Members. Beginning in 2003 a particular Website started to disrupt and cause confusion within our Clan with intent to divide and separate it. As of this week there appeared on that Website a "Notation" that as of December 2003 Clan Cian no longer "Represents the Dalcassians" That notation to some degree is "erroneous" somewhat misleading and deceiving. Any Member desiring to separate to a different Clan has always had a right to do so. Clan Cian will continue to represent those Dalcassian Families in Eile and Ormond. Any one holding Clan Cian Membership, which is a "Life Membership" will still be "Honored" as a Clan Cian Member with full "Clan Acknowledgement and Privileges" as do all our Members.
