THE CLADDAGH RING
The Claddagh Ring was created by master goldsmith, Richard Joyce, after enslavement that took him away from his beloved Claddagh, a small area in Ireland. The emblem of love and friendship, two hands cradling a crowned heart, was a reminder to Irish exiles of their beloved home, which is Ireland.
The legend says, when one wears the ring on the right hand, crown turned inward, the world may see the heart as yet unoccupied. When worn on the right hand, with the crown turned outward, love is being considered. Worn on the left hand, with the crown turned outward, two loves have become inseperable. The small fishing village of Claddagh may have vanished, but its legacy still lives on.
